The Rural Development Trust Ltd. [RDT] is a company limited by guarantee with charitable status it is controlled by a Board of Directors consisting of representatives of public agencies, community organisations and local business sectors.  

RDT is based in and operates from South Lanarkshire’s rural area.

We have a strong recent track record of developing and delivering projects that address rural issues in a strategic and effective manner.

The company has been built around the LEADER principles of innovation, co-operation and collaboration, integration, sustainability, partnership and bottom-up project development. Our development has been stimulated and supported by LEADER and we are therefore in a unique position to understand and drive forward rural regeneration projects.

Our company philosophy and investment policy is obvious and open. We believe we represent a cost effective and professional solution whilst at the same time representing good value for money. We believe in being prudent with our cost base and keep our business overheads at manageable levels. At the same time our core focus is rural and our policy is to reinvest any operating surpluses into new rural initiatives.
