New community bus pricing! PDF Print E-mail

Finally we have been forced to increase our community bus rates, for bookings from 15th May 2009 community bus use with a volunteer driver will change to the following:

  • Booking charge per day         £12.00
  • Mileage charge                      £0.50 per mile
  • Minimum charge                   £20.00 per day

Mileage will actually be charged at £0.31 per km as the vehicle odometers are in kms however his equates to approx £0.50 per mile.

This is the first increase since we started operating and we hope that our clients will understand.

National Award for South Lanarkshire Council / RDT Partnership

A partnership project between SLC and RDT won the Local Government Chronical 2009 - Sustainable Environment Award.

The project involves the recycling of waste cooking oil from schools and other council properties into biodiesel for use in the community buses.

It is a project which could easily be replicated accross the country and if anyone would like information on how we make it all work please feel free to get in touch.
